April Salsbury, MBA
Founder and CEO

Salsbury & Co. was founded by April Salsbury, MBA as a way to fuel her passion for building businesses and helping small business owners realize their unique goals.  After growing an organization from 15 employees and two locations to 100 employees and seven locations (including international distribution), working in legislation and with associations to create accreditation standards, she believed that her experience as a CEO and a "builder" could help small business owners avoid certain hurdles, gain valuable insight, and obtain an extra set of hands to get the work done the right way.

Jessica Randall
Junior Consultant

Jessica assists in all facets of building the foundation for small businesses.  Her educational and work background is rather unique from others in the business consulting field.  Completing school with an Associates in Exercise Science and a Bachelors in Human Physiology, Jessica dove straight into the world of tissue banking only two days after graduation.  During this time, she moved up quickly into a manager position then continued upward into Quality and became a Certified Quality Improvement Associate with the American Society for Quality.  Jessica is a natural problem solver, has the capacity to improve processes to better workflow and security for a company, and can integrate with any group of people.  

Kim Lay-Christy
Accounting Manager

Kim has more than 20 years experience as a Full Cycle Bookkeeper, including A/R, A/P, Payroll, General Ledger and Financial Statements.  Her extensive experience includes Manufacturing, Physicians Private Practice, Retail, and much of the Service Industry.  Kim loves to help clients fully understand their financial statement and have confidence that they are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.  She is currently working on her certification in Quick Books and becoming AIBP Certified.


Daniel Murillo
Bookkeeper & Payroll Specialist

Daniel is a recent graduate of Portland State University's School of Business. His studies were focused in Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Economics.  He serves as a Full Cycle Bookkeeper performing A/R, A/P, Payroll, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliations, and Financial Statements for S&C Clients.  Daniel is fluent in Spanish and English.  In Daniel's free time, he enjoys playing sports, primarily basketball and soccer, and admires cars.  

Michelle Magoon
Medical Billing & Coding Specialist

With more than 13 years experience in health care, Michelle is proficient in Electronic Health Records, ICD-10, most medical billing and coding software programs, and has extensive Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Compensation, primary and secondary commercial insurance knowledge.  In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and children, training her dog, working in the yard, and reading.


Morgan Morrow
HR Assistant

A passion for working with people and improving organizational culture lead Morgan to exploring options in Human Resources. Her degree in accounting as well as her background in accounting and operations management lends to her skill at applying effective HR methods to small businesses. As the HR Assistant, Morgan manages many of the day-to-day HR duties for our clients. She stays on top of the newest trends and regulation changes through involvement with government entities and as a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).


Jesse Durell
Business Development Specialist

Driving business forward, Jesse uses his unique background in the pharmaceutical industry and small business combined with his IT interests to create and carryout solutions geared toward customer service, improving sales and automation.  His degree in communications from Southern Oregon University led him to opportunities with well known national companies because of his effectiveness and integrity.  He particularly enjoys blueprinting enterprise solutions to support productivity. Jesse enjoys spending time with his family and working around his new home in Camas.


Christopher Taylor
Medical Billing Supervisor

An exceptional eye for detail and processes, Chris oversees medical billing operations for our clients. With more than 15 years experience in medical office management and medical billing in DME and integrative medicine, his experience is sure to add confidence in our client's medical billing processes. Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and four children in the outdoors of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Olivia Ma Khim
Full Charge Bookkeeper

Holding a degree in accounting and economics from the University of Texas, Olivia has extensive knowledge and experience in full cycle/full charge accounting. Her experience working within a CPA firm in Texas helped grow her understanding of small businesses and taxes. She has more than 15 years experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and preparation of business taxes. Olivia is fluent in Khmer and English. Olivia recently moved to the Pacific Northwest and is enjoying spending time in the outdoors with her family.

Alec Virk
Human Resource Assistant

A recent graduate from Portland State University, Alec is putting his Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management to great use. A Pacific Northwest native, Alec is an avid outdoors person. He works with and supports clients from the Bend, OR office and provides excellent Human Resource Management guidance and regulatory compliance for our clients.

Rozalyn Taylor
Administrative Assistant

Rozalyn is entering her senior year of high school and supports our team with her administrative skills and project management assistance. Not only is she learning a lot in her role that will benefit her future career, but we are learning a lot from her too! 

Nathaniel Johnson

Experienced team leader with an MBA and a Certificate in Finance from Colorado State University, Nathan uses his extensive knowledge to help small businesses grow as a Consultant. Formerly a firefighter, Nathan uses the skills gained in his firefighting and paramedic training to identify process improvements and structural enhancements through identifying and analyzing problems, evaluating viable alternative solutions, anticipating consequences, and directing the implementation of a solution.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his family.

Patricia Olson
Full Charge Bookkeeper

After running her own bookkeeping business for 30 years, Patricia sought to work for S&C as a full charge bookkeeper for the team environment and growth opportunities. With her bachelor's degree and background in small business accounting, Patricia has tremendous experience in the real estate, construction, retail, and manufacturing industries. A mainstay in the Bend, Oregon community, Patricia enjoys all things outdoors, reading, and cooking.

Alisha Petersen
Medical Billing Specialist

With more than 15 years experience in health care working for organizations including St. Charles Medical Center and the American Red Cross in fields ranging from Physical Therapy to Optometry, Alisha has a vast knowledge of the inner workings of the billing process and how to recover the most compensation for our clients. Alisha is based in our Bend, Oregon office and enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter camping, hiking and paddle boarding.

Kelly Mathis
Full Charge Bookkeeper

Kelly recently relocated from South Carolina and uses her professional experience as a Controller and Accounting Manager to financially guide our clients while taking care of all their accounting needs. She is well versed in Sage and Quickbooks and enjoys taking a deeper dive in to a company's financials to help them succeed.  Outside of the office, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, doing yoga and pottery.
