Who Needs Social Media?
Every company, no matter the size, should be on social media. Whether you love it or you hate it, people utilize Facebook and Instagram consistently to learn about your company and determine if your brand is reputable. According to Hootsuite, 90% of brands use social media to increase brand awareness and 77% of those brands expect to increase their social media presence in 2019. While posting 3-5 times per week can seem like a daunting task, there are some principles to “live by” that can make building your social media presence less time consuming. And… perhaps even fun!
1) Put yourself in your audiences’ shoes.
What would you want to know about your company? Tell about your company in little, digestible pieces that people can understand and remember. Many companies perform a variety of services, so break those down bit by bit.
2) Focus on your why.
In the age of digital “relationships,” it’s important to not only show people what you do, but why you do what you do! You are trying to build your brand – build your reputation and trust with potential clients – so people want to know what makes you tick. Why are you passionate about what you do? This should pour out of you with excitement!
3) Use your social media to brag about your team.
a.This familiarizes people with the people behind your company. Highlighting your staff can build your team members’ confidence while giving them a sense of ownership in what they do for your company. Not sure what to highlight about your team? Google “Team Questionnaire” and have your staff answer random questions. Great way to build rapport with your audience.
4) Time Block Your Posting
Salsbury & Co. manages multiple social media accounts for clients in a variety of industries. To do social media well, you must be in the right mindset. Time blocking and scheduling out targeted posts for 1-2 weeks is helpful for keeping you in the right frame of mind. Enjoy being creative and keep yourself focused!
5) Humor is Key!
Search industry specific memes that will make people laugh! Just be careful of copyright infringement. Give credit where credit is due.
These are just a few things our creative team at Salsbury & Co. keeps in mind when advising our clients in digital marketing.
Overall, enjoy the creative process!
