Social media is an incredibly powerful tool when it comes to marketing. This is due to a number of factors, chief among them being the reach that social media has, which is perhaps the greatest of any other form of media on the planet. Recently, we saw social media becoming a powerful marketing medium as well, and it came as no surprise really, since it was only time before someone spotted the immense potential and capitalized on it.
Social Media Marketing Today
Today, social media is one of the major channels of marketing. One can even argue that it is the greatest medium, one that allows the marketer to employ all manner of visuals and sounds, as well as incorporate a degree of interactivity, in order to make their product or service sell. If you look at the more ‘conventional’ marketing media, you will see that they are clearly limited in their reach and scope, and are definitely not appreciated to quite the same degree. Oftentimes, they can be disruptive, such as an ad on TV that ruins a perfectly good sports show!
Ads on social media have become more creative, and therefore, are being shared and talked about more. This has benefitted the seller and marketer too, while at the same time allowing them to not only gauge their true market, but also letting them observe what the potential as well as qualified customer wants from them.
What the Future Holds for Social Media Marketing
This is one of the simplest predictions to make, really! In a few short years since Facebook and Instagram came to be known as powerful marketing platforms, we have seen a growth of the social media marketing culture. This growth has been unprecedented. The results in terms of profitability defied any and all expectations, and people who marketed well on social media ended up making a tremendous amount of money, without spending any significant amounts as a marketing investment.
Now we look to the future of social media marketing, and immediately we see some marketing trends of fairly recent times, which have given us an idea of what the future holds. Following are some trends which we may very well see, in the near future.
Intelligent marketing techniques which respond differently to people of different approaches and even mindsets. We already have several examples of ads and marketing pieces which present information based on submitted information from the potential client’s end. This specific input is analyzed, and the customer’s mindset or their preference is gauged from it. The ad is then presented in a way that will most likely attract that particular person.
Ads which allow samples of the product or service to be experienced then and there. This is already in existence and it will only progress further.
