Why Having a Strong Social Media Presence Is A Must For Your Business

Your business is bound to fail if you don't have a strong social media presence. Here is why having a strong media presence is a must for your business.

Today, no business can survive and grow without a well-built online presence. A key component of this online presence is a strong social media presence. Social media is fast changing how business is done and having a strong social media presence is required to keep pace with competitors. So, why is having a strong social media so important for businesses? Let’s find out.

Your business is bound to fail if you don’t have a strong social media presence and there’s good reason for that. According to research, 2 out of 3 adults in the United States use social media for one reason or another. Today, over fifty million businesses have Facebook pages while about 100 of the Fortune 500 companies have a Twitter presence.

These stats clearly indicate the importance of having a strong social media presence. Unfortunately, some businesses are yet to use social media to their benefit. If you’re one of them then you need to quickly change your ways. If you don’t do that, you may soon become history.

In 2013, marketers were surveyed to find out whether or not social media helped business to grow. According to social media marketing industry report that included the results of the survey, more than 80% of the surveyed marketers felt that social media was important for their business. Moreover, over 60% of these marketers experienced lead generation benefits with social media after spending no more than six hours each week on social media. According to almost 75% of the surveyed marketers, an increase in traffic was one of the biggest benefits of having a social media presence.

In addition to the above, almost 90% of the surveyed marketers reported an increase in their market exposure after using social media as part of their marketing strategy. Finally and most importantly, more than half of the surveyed marketers reported an increase in sales after using social media for marketing and communication purposes for a year or so. Hopefully, the aforementioned survey is enough to convince you to have a strong social media presence. There are a number of benefits of using social media for your business including:

  • Showcasing your brand

  • Developing a loyal community of prospects

  • Increasing digital exposure

  • Boosting the tryst in your business

  • Increasing sales

  • Increasing traffic

  • Boosting search engine marketing

  • Cutting marketing costs

Today, more than 70% of the internet users are active on social networking sites. More importantly, 85% of these users expect every business to have a social media page or presence. According to survey by Forbes, people trust businesses with a social media presence more than the businesses without it. For all of the reasons mentioned above, having a strong social media presence is a must for your business.
